Friday the 13th, Day of the Goddess, and My First Giveaway

13 is a hidden female power number

13 is the number of lunar rotations in a year, the number of divine transformation as it represents the never ending spiral of birth, death, and rebirth. Indigenous people observed the last moon of the year both closed one cycle and opened the next. M is the 13th letter of the alphabet, for Mother, the nurturing principle that allows life to flourish, and of Magick and Mystery.

As everything in my life relates to Sound in some way, the chromatic scale has 13 notes to an octave, the 13th note like the last moon cycle, both ends an octave while beginning the next.

Feared, of course, as women’s fertility and power always have been, to be dominated, which led to the horrific burning times, and we still see playing out today through the control of birth via artificial means, to the medicalization and sterilization of birth itself, and the the large scale ecological destruction of our Mother we are currently living through.

One of the most revered numbers in ancient cultures, fear not the number 13, and instead tap into the auspiciousness of this hidden female power number.
