Over the years Joe has become known as the Warm Creamy Drink Man for his uncanny ability to craft the most delicious and satisfying herbal drink concoctions. This is one of our favorites! It’s both grounding and uplifting and calls on the age-old synergy of mushrooms and chocolate. We combine organic roasted root powders that completely dissolve in hot water for ultra creaminess with the most precious small-batch heirloom cacao powder from Ecuador and a medley of mushrooms. Reishi, chaga, maitake, turkey tail, and shiitake are all deep allies on our quest for harmony and wholeness. This is a lovely cup when you’re wanting a little stimulation in a grounded way.
Mushroom Mocha contains only organically cultivated and wildcrafted 100% fruiting body extracts of reishi, chaga, maitake, turkey tail, and shiitake mushrooms. We never include grain-grown mycelium which means that no fillers or starches are present (ingredients in mushroom products that sometimes go unlabeled). The mushrooms are concentrated between 8:1-16:1 and third-party tested for the presence of active compounds including at least 20% beta glucans and third-party tested for microbial, pesticide, and heavy metals contaminants.
Mushroom Mocha contains a rare heirloom variety of cacao called Nacional grown organically on small family farms in the Piedra de Plata region of Ecuador. This cacao’s genetic lineage reaches back at least 5,300 years to the first known cacao trees domesticated by humanity. It was thought to be extinct until recently when old growth Nacional trees were found and designated Heirloom by the Heirloom Cacao Preservation Fund. The appreciation and careful cultivation of this rare cacao ensures its survival and continued journey alongside us. The cacao is purchased for 270% to 820% above the Fair Trade minimum price and our supplier works closely with the rainforest conservation foundation Third Millennium Alliance for the preservation of this special cacao genotype.
To make: Whizz 1.5 Tablespoons with 6-8 ounces of hot water. Sweeten to taste.
Ingredients: Organic reishi, chaga, maitake, turkey tail, and shiitake mushroom extracts (fruiting body only), organic Ecuadorian Nacional cacao powder, organic cacao powder, extracts of organic roasted barley, organic roasted rye, organic roasted chicory root, and organic roasted dandelion root
